NJ Transit names Raymond P. Kenny to lead Rail Operations

New Jersey Transit has named veteran railroader Raymond P. Kenny as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Rail Operations, to take effect immediately. Kenny began his career in transportation as a ticket clerk on the Long Island Rail Road in 1970, moving to the dispatcher’s office in 1975. He continued to rise through the ranks leading training and construction before serving as a past president of LIRR. Kenny has since spent his time as a consultant on many regional transportation infrastructure projects before he was tapped for the manager position at NJT. The railroad has been under intense scrutiny after a series of accidents and drastic budget shortfalls crippled NJ Transit, with incoming governor Phil Murphy vowing to turn the agency around.
