Accident kills Royal Gorge conductor

A conductor working the popular Royal Gorge Route Railroad near Cañon City, Colo., fell from the rear of the train and was killed instantly on May 28. The accident took place about four miles from the station. Leslie Cacy, 28, met her husband Devon Cacy while working at the railroad for the last eight years. The couple was married in 2015, her husband is the operations manager. The railroad is cooperating with the county sheriff and the National Transportation Safety Board as an investigation is conducted. Following a voluntary shutdown, the railroad resumed service on June 1.
