New Maintenance Facility for Florida Service

A new maintenance facility is under construction near West Palm Beach, Florida, that will house the equipment for Florida East Coast Railway’s new passenger service, recently re-branded as “Go Brightline.” The equipment is being built by Siemens in California, and the new South Florida service is set to debut in 2017. According to the Palm Beach Post, about 50 people will work out of the 12-are site, which is also expected to serve as an office for the train crews and service staff. Initially, five Brightline trainsets will be housed at the site, officials said.
