New Mexico Rail Runner Resumes Service

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A year after it shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the New Mexico Rail Runner Express resumed service on Monday. 

Train service is currently operating on a limited schedule on weekdays only and it is only stopping at select stations. Officials have not indicated when normal service will return. In accordance with federal law, all passengers will have to wear masks when onboard the trains or in stations. Also, for the time being, cash is not be accepted in order to slow the spread of germs. 

The Rail Runner runs between Albuquerque and Santa Fe. It first began operations in 2006.
