Brookville rehabs El Paso PCCs

Brookville Equipment Corp. in Pennsylvania is rebuilding a fleet of President’s Conference Committee (PCC) trolley cars for SunMetro, the transit authority serving El Paso, Texas. When complete, the rebuilt cars will feature modern amenities such as wi-fi, air conditioning, and wheelchair ramps.  A unique cross-border international trolley service connected El Paso with Juarez, Mexico, until 1974. The PCC cars were placed in storage, and six will be refurbished for use on the 4.8 mile downtown loop system currently under construction and expected to open to the public in 2018.
