First Cincinnati Streetcar delivered

The first vehicle for the much contested Cincinnati Streetcar was delivered on October 30. Four streetcars will make up the initial fleet, manufactured by CAF USA in Elmira, N.Y. The original streetcar system shut down in 1951. The new Cincinnati Streetcar is a 3.6 starter route connecting downtown with Over-the-Rhine. Cincinnati Mayor John Cranely has been a vocal opponent of the streetcar project, and did not attend or comment on the delivery. The cars will undergo months of testing with the goal of beginning public operation in September 2016.
